I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in 2009, and since then have been using CPAP. The CPAP machine has been completely successful in treating the apnea, but it is burdensome, and in 2017 I was prescribed « myofascial » therapy with a view to achieving a complete cure of the illness itself.

The therapy involves a number of simple mouth and tongue exercises with a view to toning the muscles, so that breathing is no longer restricted. After a course of sessions with the therapist, I have continued the exercises at home.

Before I started doing the exercises, the annual test (without CPAP) showed a rate of just under 39 apneas per hour. After about 9 months of doing the exercises, my latest annual test (without CPAP) showed a rate of just under 9 apneas per hour, and my OSA is now described as of « light » rather than « severe » intensity.

I have now been recommended to use a « Tongue Right Positioner, » which I hope will lead to me being completely cured of OSA.
